For years, I have been thinking, talking, and wishing about starting my own little "business." I have had so many ideas, not "get rich ideas" or what would make me the most money, but "what can I do with the skills that I have (I am quite crafty) that I would enjoy and help provide a little income for my family and me? " I have also wondered why the drive was missing, until recently. GOD! God was the missing part! My relationship with God has strengthened significantly over the past few years, so that I can now see that he has been the missing part all along. So now I pray not for my happiness and what I want, but for HIS will for my life. And can you guess what happened? The drive came, and I am going to trust him and his plan and give it my all. I have no idea where exactly this is going to lead, but either way, I am very excited for the journey. If you have made it this far, you will most likely have figured out that I love the Lord, and he will be a major part of my journey and spoken about quite often. I hope you stick around. After all, he does deserve all the glory.
That being said, as I already mentioned, I am quite crafty. I have so many hobbies I enjoy doing that it is hard to settle on just one, or even a few. That is where my business name came from, Holy Hobbies by Sherri Lynn. I found it quite fitting, considering all that I love to do. I have recently enjoyed painting tiny little landscapes, gouache being my favorite medium at this moment. I also enjoy crocheting; my grandmother taught me when I was a teenager, and I have gotten quite good over the years. Beading, collage, abstract painting, and even digital files like journals and stickers. I enjoy them all. Ironically, I have discovered over the past few months that I really enjoy prepping, prepping my tiny watercolor papers and custom watercolor palettes, organizing what I need to create something. That is going to be a big part of my new business; keep an eye out for that in the near future.
So, in closing. My name is Sherri Lynn. I grew up in a small village on the Hudson River in Nyack, New York. I currently live in New Jersey in the hopes of "retiring" in Pennsylvania one day. I am happily married to a great guy and have 2 grown sons whom I am very proud of.
This is a photo from one of my favorite places, my second home!
